In the extreme NE corner of Oregon, there's this lovely near drive-up summit with a great view down to the Snake River and Hells Canyon. There's a fire lookout tower that you can climb partway up, but it's perhaps not the best place to activate. Instead, head down the short trail to the benches and picnic tables that have a view east down into the canyon - it's fantastic.

From Imnaha, Oregon take Hat Point Road 23 miles to the Hat Point Overlook. We walked about a quarter mile from the parking area to a nice spot to activate with a couple trees to lean a pole against. There are some shaded tables, but note that their steel structures will mess with your antenna tuning. Although others have worked 2m FM from here, I would not expect to make any contacts on that band.
