Repeat Activation of Red Top Mountain Lookout.  Red Top (W7W/CW-061) is 5,361 feet elevation (1,634 meters), and is located approximately 15 miles NNE of Cle Elum, Washington.  There have been many activations of Red Top Mountain before, so there is ample planning material available.  Great weather, great views and the good company of my XYL and Dexter the SOTA Dog, made for a fine activation!

Red Top Lookout is accessible off Forest Service Roads: #9738 then #9702, from SR-97, the Cle Elum to Leavenworth State Road traversing Blewett Pass.  The road was in fine condition, and we encountered no obstacles. Following the Activation, we descended to the base of Red Top summit and headed north on the Teanaway Ridge Trail for a couple miles to get some excersize.  The flowers were out, so we enjoyed a bonus to the activation.

I worked HF, making contacts on 20M (3X) and 40M (6X) I used my Yaesu 857D , 20M + 40M linked dipole strung from my 25 foot carbon fiber fishing pole, powered by LiPo batteries.  I worked: AC6FU; N0USR; K7BKE; WA7ARR; W6IO; K6TAA; W2PE (special Operation aboard the USS Little Rock) ; W0BBD and KD0YOB (S2S SOTA Contact to W0C/PR-122).
