This easy 1 point summit is just off I-5 and can be quickly accomplished if you're passing through the scenic Skagit Valley.

The road is paved all the way to the top but there is also a network of trails.  The road is gated at the bottom but is open from 10am to dusk.  This is a city of Mt. Vernon park.  It's common to find cars parallel parked along the road near the gate for those that want to walk to the top.

I think the picnic tables are within the 30 meter activation zone, but if you're seeking more seclusion follow the trail past the outhouse and radio towers to get closer to the true summit.  Trees are prevalent, making wire antenna deployment possible.

Directions:

Heading north on I-5, take the Anderson Road Exit 225.  Turn right, then immediately left (North) on the frontage road Cedardale.  In a half mile this will come to a stop sign at Blackburn Road, turn right steeply up the hill.  Follow Backburn for 1.1 miles and stay to the right at the fork.  This road now becomes Little Mountain Road.  In .4 miles turn right into the will marked park entrance.  in a few hundred yards you will find the yellow gate, either park here and walk up or continue past for the 1 mile drive to the summit.
