Announcing the 2015 Idaho Kool-Aid Kids Chaser Challenge

As two of the newer folks to join the roles of North America SOTA activators, we are announcing a challenge to all you Chasers out there. We have titled this challenge the "2015 Idaho Kool-Aid Kids Chaser Challenge" after K6DGW's description of us in the May 2015 SOTA News -- "...We had a number of first activations in April, commensurate with a number of people introducing themselves on the NA SOTA Yahoo group. Mark, KT5WX; James, K7MK; and Scott, K7ZO successfully drank the SOTA Kool-Aid."

The design of the challenge is very simple. We are going to track the total number of QSOs Chasers have with both of us during 2015. For this challenge you may work each of us once per day on every band and mode we operate and on every summit we activate. We are going to count each and every QSO. We will keep track of all your QSOs and issue the following awards when our 2015 activator season is over.

  • To the top three Chasers: We will mail you a box of 12 famous Idaho Spud bars produced by the Idaho Candy company along with a signed certificate of your accomplishment.
  • To Chasers number 4 through 10: We will mail you a signed certificate of your accomplishment.

You may ask: "Why are we making this challenge?" Well, it is just to increase the fun factor by encouraging more QSOs between you and us. SOTA Chaser points tracking tends to restrict Chasers to making just one QSO with us per summit. Hopefully this Challenge will encourage you to work each of us on each summit and on all bands and modes we activate.

After each of our activations, you will be able to track your standings in our activation reports posted on the pnwsota.org web site. We are committed to document each of our activations during the year. You can also find a link to the reports by searching for our activated summits on SOTAwatch and clicking through to the specific summit page. This will have a link to our pnwsota.org post. We will start including the standings in each of our reports from this day forward. For now, here are the Top 10 and ties in the "2015 Idaho Kool-Aid Kids Chaser Challenge."
