I am new to Ham Radio. I received my General license in September 2018. I have been a communications technician for the Air National Guard for 16 years. I work there as a traditional guardsman. I work full time as a Firefighter/EMT. I just purchased my first HF radio. I am having a blast with it! I am running an Icom IC-706 MK2G with an end-fed antenna, it's powered by a lithium-ion drill battery. I enjoy the outdoors and have had fun taking HAM radio with me to places where I am miles from cell phone coverage!
