People who wish to receive the PNW SOTA Newsletter
Just started in the HAM world here earlier this year. Interested in SOTA, AMSAT and just learning about everything this hobby has to offer.
As the weather is getting nicer and the snow is melting away, my goal is to hit as many local area summits this year and expand my knowledge of my gear and HAM radio
A relatively new General. Hiker & hunter who would like to marry my interest in exploring new ground with the amateur radio service.
Primarily interest in activating. Likely to start with 2m HT and a roll-up antenna but very interested in 6m especially in Sporadic-E season. Want to get a feel for SOTA then invest in HF.
Native of the U.K. now living in Central Oregon
Ineteresting in getting into activation. I'm a hiker and enjoy ADV bikes. I'm working on putting together my mobile kit

I am new to SOTA.
Scoutleader and outdoor enthusiast. Work with technology in government sector.
Typically attempt to activate during recreational hikes on Scout outings.
I enjoy spending time outdoors. Radio is a great excuse to get out!
My QTH suffers from ridiculous noise levels, so I like to get out and activate. I have a KX2 and linked dipole that get used most often in the field.
I live in Central CA, My wife's family has a home on San Juan Island. I am in the PNW often. I enjoy SOTA and hiking in general.
The area I live in is points challenged, most summits are 1 or 2 points. I don't know if I will ever reach MG but I'm going to give it a go. I enjoy offroading and have a built 2003 Jeep Wrangler. It helps in getting to difficult trailheads.
I have a KX2 and use a few different antennas. I am always trying to lighten my pack.
I chase and activate. I am always looking for the SOTA Complete.
I like to camp and take day trips out to summits.
I like to activate with 20m FT8 and then move on to 2m FM voice contacts with a yagi.
Getting in shape by activating peaks
2m with the locals and hf cw activations. I chase anything I can hear from a summit.
Starting to build my own antennas

Most of my activity is in WA - Cascades and Olympics with occasional excursions to OR to see our daughter in Bend. I chase a bit as well from my remote setup in Kent WA.
Dont have a lot to say about myself. Love the outdoors, enjoy hiking and back country camping. Im looking forward to putting in some radio time out in the wild.
I've been interested for awhile in sota. On a whim, went up to a fire look out close to home and took my ht along. Didnt expect to hop in on a sota event so now here I am.
I don't activate often, but try to get out as much as I can. I love backpacking and hiking.

I like to get outside but usually have to do it alone. SOTA lets me reach out and spread the joy of the summit with a large part of the world.
Not sure what I want to say, but I'm a new HAM wanting to get out in the forest and do SOTA along with Emergency Preparedness.
Will edit more about myself later.
New to the sport. I would rather activate than chase, but both are needed.
