I’m new, but I’ve purchased a Yaesu FT-991a that I’m building into a go-box for POTA and drive close SOTA. I also built an EFHW kit by KM4ACK and a solar charged 25Ah LiFePO4 battery box in an ammo can. I know this is too heavy for hiking a summit with, but it is good proof-of-concept. If I decide to go for a more portable, possibly QRP, setup I’ll be ready to build the kit for that situation. I’d like to try POTA-SOTA dual activations.
