This is a quite decent set of forest roads up to a peak that'll require just a little bushwhacking.

Take OR-62 Crater Lake Hwy to head northwest on NF-68 at 42.8465, -122.4803, then turn left at NF-64 at 42.8641, -122.5061 and then right on 6470 at 42.8605, -122.5157. This road is paved for a bit, but turns to well-maintained, if narrow, gravel. Stay left at 42.8703, -122.5340, and then left at 42.8736, -122.5578 to stay on 6470. The road should be fairly clear here, but stay right at 42.8731, -122.5632, don't turn right at 42.8705, -122.5798, and turn sharply left at 42.8697, -122.5813 to head slightly up on NF 600.

Caltopo marks a road to the left at 42.8444, -122.5843, but this is a motor trail. Pull off and walk up!

The hike:

This motor trail is a pleasant hiking trail as well. I didn't see anyone on it at all. Take the trail to where it turns a little left; you'll see a marker on the trail, about 42.84623, -122.57788; this is where I turned left - directly into thick manzanita I couldn't see through. This manzanita opens up into open forest after about ten feet of struggling, but you ought to look for a better opening near this spot. Either way, you now have a relatively gentle hike up through very open forest - just navigate the occasional old downed tree.

The highest point is a pile of rocks at the north end of the relatively open area at the top (a bit of a clearing). I got radio back to Broken Arrow campground, but not much else is visible from here; take your HF. I highly recommend GPS or carefully marking which way you came up, because this summit is quite flat and easy to get a little disoriented on.

GPS is especially useful for getting down, and pay attention as you approach the trail; most approaches onto the trail are very unfriendly
