Update: I hauled my bicycle to the gate to do a biketavation of this summit. However, the gate was open and the sign restricting access was gone. This is as of 29-May-2021. Not sure what has happened but I drove up without incident. Missed the bike ride, but there will be others. Always a gamble driving past a gate.
On a beautiful February day in 2020 I decided to attempt this peak. I was following K7EEX's excellent directions, worrying a bit about the snow getting too deep. No worries about that. The road is now gated. According to my imprecise calculations it is about seven miles to the summit from the gate. It looks possible to get to this peak from Rogers Peak, but that too is gated, and I am not sure that the roads on the map are there on the ground. This is the coast range after all. Looks like a chance for a bicycle activation this summer.
