5526 is a 4-point summit in the Malheur National Forest, about 15 road miles northeast of Prairie City, OR. It is a very short bushwhack through open forest up to the summit area, which is pretty flat. The roads in the area are quite convoluted but the well worn tracks take you right close to the summit. The summit is semi-open, sparse views and plenty of trees for antennas. Don't expect 2m contacts here and AT&T data service was non-functional, so I relied upon RBN for spotting. I didn't think to check APRS.

I picked up FS Road 091 at (44.56940, -118.50540) off of Highway 26. From here, follow the track provided to the base of the summit at (44.53783, -118.50357). The final road around the northeast side (135) is a bit rough, requiring high clearance. You could just park and walk up this road until a suitable hiking/bushwhacking spot. I parked at (44.53122, -118.49315) and there was a user trail to the summit area, maybe 500 linear feet and 100 feet of ascent.

NOTE: This road had evidence of LOTS of treefall across the road. Most of it is small diameter however, but carrying a saw of some kind (hand or chain) would probably be a good idea on these roads in particular.
