Mount Pisgah is a 'near' urban summit just east of Eugene. It is known as Mount Pisgah Arboretum and as the Howard Burford Recreation Area. It's a short 1.5 miles, but steep with 1050 feet of elevation gain from the parking lot to the summit. It features some of the last remaining oak savanna that once dominated the Willamette Valley and the summit has good views.

Round Butte, OR | December 2015
Here's a pleasant and easy pavement drive-up activation just east of Madras in Central Oregon. You might consider it as you travel between Bend and Portland sometime. There are nice views from the top, good parking, and trees and sagebrush to support most antennas.
Juniper Butte, OR | October 2016
Here's a quiet Central Oregon summit for those with a high clearance vehicle - or anyone that wants a bit of hiking as one could walk the rutted dirt road or even go directly cross-country to the summit (although direct would be a bit steep).
Haystack Butte, OR | No Access
Haystack Butte in Central Oregon is fenced and posted as "Fee Access Only." Don't despair for summits to activate nearby however, as two other accessible peaks are within a few miles. W7O/CE-223 - Juniper Butte right across Highway 97 and W7O/CN-074 - Round Butte, a pavement drive-up a few miles north east of Madras.
Cady Mountain, WA | 2014
The summit proper of Cady Mountain is privately owned and not accessible.
It may be possible to activate from the narrow dirt road in lower portion of the Activation Zone, but it would be challenging.
Old Blue Mountain, OR | No Access
Note that this is NOT W7O/CC-021 - Old Blue or W7O/SC-066 - Old Blue Mountain.
When approaching from BLM Road 10 off of Highway 35, Old Blue Mountain, near Marys Peak, is gated and posted as private property. It appears that the peak itself may be on public lands, but the access from the south passes through Weyerhauser timberland.
There may be other access on other roads that approach from another side of the peak.
Pansy Mountain, OR | August 2014
Pansy Mountain is a challenging activation with a steep cross-country approach for the last half mile. Be sure to use a GPS or have a fantastic sense of direction so you can find you way BACK to the trail.
Mount Bailey, OR | September 2016
Mount Bailey near Diamond Lake is a great hike to fantastic views but it requires some effort to get those views - with a hike of about 10 miles round trip
Kelsay Mountain, OR | September 2016
Here's another summit in the Diamond Lake area to activate if you have a few hours. It's a drive-up, if your vehicle has moderate ground clearance and otherwise a short road hike.
Bunker Hill, OR | September 2016
Here's another summit in the Diamond Lake area to activate if you have a few hours to spare - it's a short hike, but there's no trail. And note that there are three Oregon summits with this same name.
