Little Chinquapin Mountain, OR May 2021

Summit:
W7O/CS-088

Nice little hike up a unusable road. Only about a 1/2 mi hike from where I parked on the west side where BLM RD 39-4E-17.1 pretty much ends. I enjoyed the short hike and the views driving up. There isn't much view from the top but just as you get at the fringe of the AZ there is a beautiful open view towards Mt. Mcloughlin, Brown, Robinson looking across Howard Prairie. I activated on the SW hump of the summit and wish I would have went to the true high point as I see now on my map it says "ruins". Could just be remnants of an old lookout. Easy set up.

Sonyok Mountain, Montana - May 16, 2021

Summit:
W7M/LO-115

Sonyok Mountain is on Tribal Indian land and a use permit is needed to go there. I bought mine at the Mangy Moose in Plains but they are available in most sporting goods outlets. The summit has a working lookout but had not been opened for the season when I was there.

Peak 5179 - ID - May 2021

Summit:
W7I/BC-091

I started out the day with much enthusiasm.  This was a yet to be activated summit which made it a tad more exciting.  I knew it would be an easy trip to the top, having ridden my mountain bike to within a quarter of a mile from the summit last year.  All the gear (well, almost all the gear) was packed up the night before with a total weight of about 13 pounds, including bike repair items just in case.
